Madre, a film by Rodrigo Sorogoyen

The eagerly awaited film by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Madre, has just gone on general release in Spain.

The film, starring Marta Nieto and newcomer Jules Porier, follows on from and actually incorporates Sorogoyen’s 2017 short, also titled Madre, which won the Goya for Best Short Film and was nominated for the Oscar. In the short, Elena receives a call from her six year old son, who’s lost on a beach in France and can’t find his father.

In the feature length Madre, ten years have passed and Elena is living on the same beach where her child disappeared. Her life takes another dramatic turn when she meets Jean, a French teenager who reminds her of her son. A strong connection is immediately created between them, and a relationship develops that will lead to chaos and conflict, not only for Elena and Jean, but for all those around them.

Our production music plays its own significant role in the film. Many thanks to the director and the producers – we’re delighted to have been able to participate in such a fascinating project.
